My Browser is Preventing a Pop-Up Windows

If specific course content is not launching on your browser, your pop-up blocker may be preventing access. Below are some general strategies that may help resolve this issue.

Best Practices:

  • Use a computer: Courses work best on a laptop or desktop with a current operating system and an up-to-date web browser.
  • Enable pop-ups: Add your course site to your browser’s Allowed list for pop-ups and redirects.


How Do I Allow Pop-Ups and Redirects?

We have provided instructions below for the most common browsers.



Google Chrome

  1. Click the three dots in the top-right corner and select Settings.
  2. Go to Privacy and security > Site settings > Pop-ups and redirects.
  3. Select Allowed, or under Allowed to send pop-ups and use redirects, click Add and enter your course website.

Microsoft Edge

  1. Click the three dots in the top-right corner and select Settings.
  2. Go to Cookies and site permissions > Pop-ups and redirects.
  3. Toggle Allow, or under Allow, click Add and enter your course website.

Mozilla Firefox

  1. Click the three horizontal lines in the top-right corner and select Settings.
  2. Select Privacy & Security.
  3. In the Permissions section, uncheck Block pop-up windows, or click Exceptions and add your course website.


Safari (macOS)

  1. Open Safari and select Settings (or Preferences).
  2. Choose the Websites tab.
  3. Select Pop-up Windows from the sidebar.
  4. For your course website, choose Allow from the drop-down menu.
